TeenHood

I understood my teenage years through the help and impact of Tumblr, music, and the influence of celebrities and musicians I looked up to. While working on this project, I acknowledged and reflected on the challenges I overcame during my teenage journey, such as bullying and verbal abuse. In addition to not having a safe place in real life, I was creating and connecting with a community online. 

In this project, I re-created a time when many cultures and subcultures had no room for judgment. For instance, my collages used a mix of soft grunge and indie soft aesthetics. 

 This project included images portraying my experiences of emotions like insanity and depression. I used photographs and collages to describe my journey of understanding people and objects that I used to have a meaning different from now—exploring feelings like rainbows and sunshine to depression storms and snowstorms.
